This itinerary formulated special for private Mount Meru trekking 4 days. Upon your arrival our professional English-guide will pick you from Airport (JRO) to Arusha safari lodge for dinner and overnight, preparing on tomorrow trekking. Some reasons for clients/ tourists to summit at Meru peak including, amazing views into the summit crater and ash cone, also hiking along the crest of the crater rim, nice, but distant, views of Kilimanjaro from the summit, the ability to see a lot of wildlife on the lower slopes in the form of a walking safari.

DAY 1: ARUSHA TO MOMELLA GATE (1450m) TO MARIAKAMBA HUT (2500m)

Hiking time: about 5 kilometers

Distance covered: barely 6-7 hours

In the morning after delicious breakfast at Arusha Safari Lodge, driver will transfer you heading to Arusha national park at Momella gate for registration before start to trek. After registration our professional mountain guide with park armed ranger will lead your way to Mariakamba hut for dinner and overnight stay. At the mid of the journey you will enjoy your lunch box before reach at Mariakamba. Wild animals, including Elephants, Zebras, and Giraffe, Monkeys, Antelope and Buffalo are sometimes encountered along the route.

DAY 2: MARIAKAMBA (2500m) TO SADDLE HUT (3500m)

Hiking time: about 5 hours

Distance covered: almost 4 kilometers

Rise in the morning after breakfast at Mariakamba you will proceed trekking toward saddle hut across the moorland climate. The walk from Miriakamba Hut to the saddle below Little Meru is a short day but a steep climb. The walk will take us slowly along the ridge for a spectacular view of the Meru Crater and the impressive Ash Cone. After hot lunch at Saddle Hut we can make a short climb to the summit of Little Meru (3,820m) for superb views just before sunset.

DAY 3: SADDLE HUT TO SUMMIT (4566M) TO MARIAKAMBA (2500m)

Hiking time: about 10-12 hours (ascending¬ + descending)

Distance covered: 9 Kilometers

We start early at around 1:30 a.m. to climb steeply to Rhino Point (3,800 m.) and on to Cobra Point (4350m). We reach the summit (4,566 m) on time for sunrise there is a possibility to see Kilimanjaro Peak above the clouds. The final part of the climb is along a spectacular narrow ridge line between the sheer inner cliffs and the sloping outer wall of the crater. We take a short rest and brunch at Saddle Hut before continuing the descent to the Mariakamba Hut.

DAY 4: MARIAKAMBA (2500m) TO MOMELA GATE (1450m) TO ARUSHA

Hiking time: about 3hours

Distance covered: barely 2kilometers

We take a short and fast descent way through open grassland and mixed forest, with possibility of seeing wildlife before reaching Momella Gate in the late morning. The returning transfer will be waiting at Momella Gate to pick you to Arusha at Safari Lodge.
